As part of the exhibition "La Poste inspires artists" organized from 11 March to 31 October 2008 at the Musée de la Poste in Paris, Miguel Chevalier created a new interactive virtual reality installation entitled L'envolée du courrier.

In the final room of the exhibition, the spectators face a large screen on which is projected a pile of letters, postcards, parcels, arranged here and there. By moving on an interactive floor and according to his movements, the visitor makes fly away and scatter the hundreds of virtual letters, which gradually grow until they are readable. When the spectators/actors leave the space, all the letters fall back in a different way, showing that the installation is constantly being renewed. L'envolée du courrier paints a picture of the correspondence that connects us to each other and its evolution from handwritten letter to e-mail.
