With the rehabilitation of the "Forum des Halles", Miguel Chevalier has been commissioned to realize an artwork inside the temporary tunnel that connects the shopping mall and the “Place Carrée”. Miguel Chevalier has created in collaboration with Trafik and composer Michel Redolfi, a generative installation, which develops up to a length of 40 meters and a height of 4 meters. This light creation entitled The Pixels crossing uses LED technology. All along the tunnel, the successive multicolored graphic scenes give a rhythm, emphasized by Michel Redolfi musical compositions which create a harmonic and cadenced wave pattern of sound, enriching passersby’s sensory experience. The light diffracting within the alveolar polycarbonate walls, underlines and redefines the tunnel space and creates Kinetics effects. The tunnel is metamorphosed into a magic and contemporary passage. The heart of Paris is thus given a new palpitation in tune with the times and announcing the renewal of the "Forum des Halles".
